If you have not experienced problems with D2005 yourself that does not mean
they do not exist. Conversely, if problems happen to one person it doesn't
mean to say that everybody will expereince them. However it does imply that
they might exist and warrant further investigation.
XP is not supposed to reboot when opening an HTML file with D2005; the IDE
is not supposed to disappear when selecting options from the tools menu; AVs
are not supposed to appear every time you close the IDE etc. All these
things have happened to me so far in just a few hours use. I don't expect it
to work that way - if the sky is falling it is not useful to pretend that it
isn't.
