It is not an issue of what CAN be done with .Net vs what CAN NOT be
done with Delphi Win 32. There are a good number of things that are
better and easier with .Net.
1. The class library far surpasses the VCL. The VCL has been great,
but has been around for a long time, with very little signficant
change. It is, long in the tooth.
2. ADO .Net is a vast improvement over ADO
3. ASP.NET rocks. I find few who would disagree, unless they have not
tried it.
4. C# is a very nice clean language as easy to use as Delphi (not
really on topic but I throught this one in anyway.
5. Garbage collection is a good thing. While this may be dusputed I
stand by it.
6. You have a choice of several languages.
7. Mono seems promising.
And there is much more. Now, like you, I am tired of the rhetoric of
those who bash .Net without a single good reason. Use it or don't use
it as you wish. Do Win32 if you want, nothing stopping you. As far
as your "Dot Garbage" comment .... give me a break. You lose
creditbilty with statements like that.
