You never stated that in your original message.
Had you done so, I wouldn't have suggested you remove it.
Still, it wouldn't kill you to go and try what I suggested to at least
rule out the possibility as to whether or not that's what's causing
your problems.
In either case, whether it turns out to be true or false, you can
always re-install it afterwards and have your dot garbage pollution
back in your system.
