Yeah, well, complaints about the company's direction are not new
either. I've seen them as long as I read these groups.
It is the first time since ages that Borland released a multi-platform
IDE for its Pascal-based language. So now we also get complaints that
were not possible in older versions. In D8 it was quite expected that
the IDE uses .NET. Now some Win32-only users complain about having to
use .NET (even if that is only for the IDE).
I personally would see no problem in installing anything required for
the development environment, as long as the executables remain pure
Win32. IMO, development machines should usually be equipped well enough
to be able to run .NET, and disk space should not be a concern either,
for a developer.
