The resulting code looks much like the code is compiled without
optimizations, but is in fact different. I would say that this clearly
indicates that it is a bug in the compiler, and that it's not just a
feature they turned off.
Compare it to a program for making flow charts. Lets say it worked
nicely, drawing nice distinct lines from box to box. Then they issue
an update, and suddenly the lines go all over the place, crossing each
other 50 times on the way from one box to another, however it still
correctly connects the boxes. You wouldn't label that as a bug?
