Re: MySQL, D7 and UniCode

So the question is: in tyhe combination of Windows XP, Delphi 7 and MySQL, what are the issues? Should I use something else than SciBit MyComponents?

By the way, does Delphi 2005 support MySQL?

I've tested some MySQL-Components abou 3 Years agou and my decision was DAC for MySQL (http://www.microolap.com/products/connectivity/mysqldac/).
I've tested Scibit-Components also, but the have some bugs, so my testsuite can't be completed.
Today I also would test MySQLDAC (http://crlab.com/mydac/), cause the have components for TDataset, dbExpress, BDP and ADO.NET.

D2005 only supports local MySQL-Databases with BDP in the Pro-Version.
But I would recommend using some native 3th-Party-Components because there are faster to support newer MySQL-DB-Versions.
