How's this one. Working as a tech support specialist, a customer called to
complain he couldn't send a fax because our "scanner" wasn't working.

Tech:"So what kind of scanner do you have?"
User:"Procomm! Don't you know even know what you sell!"
Tech:"Sir, we don't sell the scanner, just the fax software. The brand name
should be somewhere on top."
User:"Uh...well...oh here it is on the front...ViewSonic"
Tech:"Sir, ViewSonic doesn't sell scanners, that's probably your monitor.
The scanner is the device you used to scan in the document."
User::"I know that. Your not listening, all I want to do is scan my
document and fax it. I take my document, hold it up to my ViewSonic
scanner, press your Fax button and nothing happens. Are you going to help
me or not?"

After explaining the problem and gathering more information, the customer
didn't even have a fax modem (transerfed him to customer service so he could
get a refund)

I've got a lot more.
- Network administrator who didn't know what TCP/IP was and argued she
didn't need TCP/IP to get on the internet.
- MIS associate who almost got electrocuted when she attempted to change the
dip switches on an internal modem while the computer was still on.
- Consultant who argued that there is nothing wrong with serial mouse and a
modem configured for COM1.
- Delphi related : IS Manager who wanted to switch from Delphi to XML ("I
read that's what everyone is using...")
