I totally disagree.

I think there was a 'duel' between Delphi and VB, versions 1-6, where very
often Delphi was the leader, and the next version of VB copied and followed
suit.

I don't see Delphi outgunning VS.NET. While I prefer Delphi 2005, I think
the points of difference have narrowed considerably, and I think there are
areas (CF, for example) where MS just owns it and hasn't deigned to let
Borland follow.
