Does it play along with other apps which want to play/record like DirectSound does?

not sure about that
but since it uses ACM on windows I don't think it can

I don't suppose they have a Windows version of the library too do they?

infact it's a CLX thingie so it is crossplatform

and I do remember now it also has multiple codec support :)

Is it licensed under GPL or LGPL or something?
