Hi Atle,
first of all i'm sorry that you have so much problems with your D2005.

I have to say that in my case, after Update 3 my D2005 Pro just works
flawlessly and fast. Apart from the possible difference in our versions
(guess you have Arch or Ent), i noticed another one, that is, i'm not using
as many 3rd part components as you, and the few i use (Rave and C1) come
already with the Delphi installation, so i suppose they are intensively
tested. Therefore, my guess is that it could really have to do something
with 3rd part components.
I tried separately with 2 3rd part components/packages: 1 component
(CoolTrayIcon officially prepared for D7) and 1 library (don't remember the
name, officially prepared for D2005) and both made me crash my environment.
I removed them both, and no problem anymore. AFAIK, this happens also with
Castalia. So i would suggest not to hurry in saying D2005 is guilty. I agree
that D2005 was totally unusable when it came out, a little bit better when
Update1 and better with Update2, but with Update 3 it just works fine (at
least for me and a lot of people i've read)
Furthermore, if i'm not wrong most or at least a lot of your programming is
SOAP relative. As i'm not programming SOAP and i don't know what you're
trying to accomplish, i'm not sure but perhaps the problems lie in that SOAP
components or whatever lies below them (no idea about SOAP so if i'm saying
nonsense pls don't take in account :) That does not mean that the rest of
the IDE is unstable.

with Update 3 this has never happened to me. Are you sure it's not a
bottleneck caused by some other program, service or hardware?

Just wildguessing, you mean 2 D2005 IDEs? And how many threads? Btw, could
the crash not be somehow caused by so many threads? Perhaps some memory leak
in them?
