I haven't run into this particular issue with D2005 myself, so I can't
comment on the OP's problem. Your answer strikes me as a bit odd, though.
You seem to be saying that the problem isn't that D2005 lost a bunch of his
work, it's that he didn't have proper measures in place to get back the work
D2005 lost - and since D2005 has a new feature he was able to use to get
back the lost work anyway, that it's silly to complain that D2005 lost the
work in the first place. Is that a fair summary of your position above?

Again, I haven't had this problem myself, but _if in fact_ D2005 with SP3 is
spontaneously failing to save, discarding, or moving the programmer's work,
I don't see how commenting on the OP's version control issues does anything
to change the fact that this is a serious problem with Delphi.
