I really enjoyed this article too, and kudos to Mike for its efforts!
However I never thought those menus were "cool" in any ways: Windows
provides the user with a way to select its prefered selection color and I
can't understand why someone from Borland (or any other software developer)
decides that this particulare kind of blue was the one I should use only
because they liked it and thought it was "cool". No to mention the
"persistence" issue I experienced sometimes when moving the mouse over the
menus :(
I should mention that I've never bothered to check if I could change that
color or turn it off though.
