Ok, first things first: I respect your reply to Rick's post. I also don't
want to fuel this point too much because it's fairly dead, but I do want to
address it.

Even if what you assert above is true of the TWhiners, the overwhelming
response that I have read here from the TApologists have been that it has
been usable for them. We could go digging through google news if we wanted
to, but that is kind of irrelevant.

I think there will always be TWhiners and there will always be TApologists.
The palpable tension that exists now is when the division between their
perceptions become so great they cannot see the common ground between them.
For a release like Delphi 2005, this is what I've witnessed here. There is
no attempt at any kind of understanding, just a stubborn entrenchment of
"I'm right, you're wrong". When indeed, both may be "right" because
everyone has different standards and perceptions of usability; and as in the
case of software different hardware configurations etc.

The point is that reading between the lines of all the recent blog entries,
radio addresses and chat sessions, it is quite clear to me that Delphi 2005
has hurt Borland in a very real way. The fact that the *former* CEO
acknowledged that before his departure is yet another piece of evidence
pointing to this.

Certainly both the TWhiners and the TApologists can move towards each other,
but I think it's time that the TApologists realize and recognize that the
TWhiners do indeed have a legitimate cause for their whining in regards to
Delphi 2005.

IMO, complaining is a necessary and valuable feedback mechanism for a
company. To attempt to stop it is foolish, it is much more productive is to
listen to it and try to extract constructive criticism from it. Not saying
that you will get that from a pure TWhiner, or that Borland in particular
has the resources to do so...but you get my point.
