I don't make a habit of surfing the Microsoft VB groups but do remember circa
3-4 years ago (I think at time of Delphi-6 release) that for a short time both
Anders Ohlsson and John Kaster were encouraging folks to visit the VB groups and
extol the virtues of Delphi-6 especially that Borland had released a toolset
that supported the new MS Web Service protocols before Microsoft had released
their own toolset. Out of curiosity I visited one of the MS VB groups and found
several messages from Anders and at least one from John. Usually no one
responded but at least on one occasion a Microsoft guy responded by saying that
the ng was intended for professionals and asked that they not post any more
messages. IIRC he did refer to the messages as trolls so yes you are correct.
What amazed me was that Anders and John left the (Borland) tag in their
signatures. :-0
