I'm talking about a genuine need on a project by project and/or company by
company basis. If the nature of the projects a company does requires this
than that is a legitimate issue. Otherwise not. The majority of applications
in Win32 *do not and will not require* unicode.

No, I mean there is no reason to switch from Delphi in this case.

Again that depends on the project that must employ Unicode. VCL.Net can be
used with ADO.Net. I also expect that dbExpress will be fixed for this.

No argument that it would be nice to have. But the number of cases where it
is really needed versus the cost of developing it *might* not make it
practical for Borland to do.
