Re: Unicode in Delphi/VCL (yet again)



Do not make that assumption.

As I've pointed out to the folks who hacked up VB in this regard (and you
can quote me on this) "A new type of data requires a new data type.".
Seemed simple enough to me. Not that they listened.

I can say, without even digging under the hood here, that the real decision
is whether it's worth doing that. Screwing up an existing data type has, in
every case, proved to be the wrong move.
