Actually, this sentence proved, that you haven't even looked at it for the last half decade.
There are things like CAS. So you can have a client application that only needs to talk to your server.
If it doesn't need informations about the system it's running on, the user can start it _directly_ from the Internet without _any_
worries it might have some malicious impact on his system.
Heck, you won't even have access to the HDD, Registry, clipboard,... if you or the user doesn't want your app to.
