I completely agree. And my patch is a typical example of a way a possible mess could occur. As I've already stated in my initial post, this patch doesn't actually fix any bug, it's just alters the IDE behavior to become somewhat less (IMO) annoyning (related to this bug). If VCL were open source and I submitted this change, then users would certainly be confused since some would experience the initial bug and some other the "not remembering the resizing" bug I introduced and a complete chaos would occur.
IMO, the correct way of handling this is to let Borland officialy fix this (this would require a definitely more complicated fix than what I did). My patch could be useful only if someone has fully understood what I actually changed and agreed that it would be helpful for him (ignoring the side effects of it).
