Sure there's lots of other database choices out there. But SqlCE, for example, requires a VS.NET license to redistribute. If Borland helps us do CF.NET development, but we still have to buy VS.NET, it's one less reason to buy both VS.NET and Delphi.
It's not about making money from the database. It's about reducing reasons to purchase competitor's product, and reducing dilution of the Delphi loyalty.
