dotnet realtime at london stock exchange

I think there was a debate on if dotnet could do realtime ?

According to this weeks UK Computer Weekly magazine the London Stock
Exchange just launched a mission-critical real-time market-facing system in
dotnet ( Called Infoelect ). Database is MS SQL Server 2000.

It allegedly sends out 10 million piences of market information per day to
97,000 terminals and users get data at ten times the speed of the old
system.
Its also more scalable than old system ( No idea on old system design )
