J# is not Java. OK, it is Java-syntax thing, but it does not use Java VM, it uses .NET VM. Adding real (Sun) Java support will require BDS to load Java VM in addition to .NET VM - which will slow down it.
Not to mention that J# requirement for IDE is stupid, I never installed it and IDE work just fine.

I repeat: the IDE relies on Java already. You have to install some J# lib for it to work.
