I had a look at this recently. I found the Jedi VCS server (I was using SQL
Server, standalone) was an absolute pain. The scripts provided didn't work -
it looked as if no-one had ever tried to install it. Also there was
insufficient information provided for setting up / administering users, to
the extent that I couldn't be sure if the problems I experienced were due to
problems in the installation scripts for the db, problems setting up users,
or problems with my network/firewall. For example, the only default user had
a password something like '#12#96# . . .' rather than something readable.
It's not exactly obvious to work out what password one should be entering by
default in the client, and whether ones own passwords need to be encoded in
like manner.
I went back to Team Coherence which, incidently, has a much better UI and is
more 'enjoyable' to use.
But maybe the Jedi VCS is better for FireBird. I used it happily for a
client for another project where someone else set up and configured the
(Firebird) server.
Anyway, if you are associated with the project, please pass on these
comments regarding installing the SQL Server JediVCS server.
