My laptop took less than half an hour. I gave up on my desktop when
the time remaining showed 10 hours.

Turns out my disc 1 was marginal. Reverting from my DVD drive to the
original CD drive it installed in under an hour despite many retries on
disc 1. Others have reported problems with disc 3.

More likely a QC problem at the pressing plant.
