We've got it installed. It's pretty cool. You access the main screen
via a control center that is basically a custom VNC application. You
can look at the VM Server on the local host or on a remote host.

You can have the VMServer in a closet somewhere and you can have
multiple remote connections to it, so you might be looking at one VM
that is running, and I can be looking at another. Or I could watch
what you are doing.

We have the server running on a Suse 10 host. In order to get the
remote console to work, we had to open up a port on the Suse firewall.
We could get the Windows client app to open up the console, but it was
weird that it would not show the actual VM screen, just the properties.
(Tried it from an XP and a W2K box) but a Linux client accessed it
remotely just fine. We tried to open up port 8222 to see if the Web
access would work with no luck. After we closed that port back up, the
Windows clients mysteriously started working properly.

We have another live server with VMPlayer running a W2K server on a
Suse 10 host. If we want more VMs, we'd need to run multiple instances
of Player. With VMServer, it should be more efficient to run multiple
VMs since they will all be controlled by the same instance of VMWare.
