On the basis that it's far better to announce a sell off to a third party
rather than hoping for a sell off, you have to presume that all the usual
suspects have already been approached and turned down the opportunity.
If that's true, how long does Delphi have before the corpse goes cold?

Any buyer for Delphi has to have a forward looking strategy about how
Delphi will stand out in the market place.
My own view....
* Make it the 'Switzerland of the Intel' world by having an IDE that can
generate modules for WIN32, .NET and Linux with minimal source code
changes
* Aim for twice yearly product updates
* Try to take over the VB mantle
* Move to a subscription fee model
* Pricing has to be at a sub VS level
* Ditch any professional/enterprise pricing distinction. Offer a single
product that is big and powerful
* Actively pursue collaboration with third party Delphi component vendors,
to ensure that all technology sectors are accessible (e.g. mobile, grid
computing etc)
* Effectively farm out tech support to a community web site where people
responding to tech queries earn credits against their own subscription
account
