The issue isn't about having twin CPUs. It's the new Core Duo chip.
These are in new laptops.
My experience with a Core Duo desktop, running under Win XP Home SP 2,
has been quite favourable. No different to running the twin CPU
desktop at work these last few years. Runs Delphi 2006 fine, no
problems stepping through the debugger, although I have only really
been testing with the C++ personality.
I can only offer you a single data-point of one user, but it is real
experience rather than rumour/innuendo off the web.
The only problem I have heard with Core Duo and notebooks is that there
is a bug that causes them to drain battery life. No problem if you are
running connected to the mains all the time ;?)
I've researched that too.

They conclude that it isn't a Core Duo problem but a broader one.
I just wonder that the chip for the laptop isn't the same as for the
desktop.
I have just been getting more experienced with the Builder debugger.
