Well I don't know how long it has been running continuously, but I wrote an
app about 8 years ago that dials up other computers / collects order details
etc.
The last I heard it was still sitting there in the server room unaltered,
performing its 15 minute interval tasks. Nobody there knows what it does
anymore, so nobody was brave enough to restart the PC in case it broke
something. I wonder if they realise it manages logistics for their largest
customer account? Well, that's what happens when the developer leaves and
the employer wont give them enough spare time to document a hand-over.
