My linking to Joels article was less about the need for a
linker (which /you/ keep coming back to accusing me off
saying) than the potential pitfalls and problems of
deploying the run-time re-distributable - which you don't
seem to want to acknowledge.

To me, there seems to be a lot of similarity between the way a lot of .NET
apologists argue about .NET and the way a lot of Linux apologists argue
about Linux. In both cases they argue that it is the wave of the future,
that any problems others see are their own misunderstanding and ignorance,
and that it is a no-brainer to switch to it.

Has a lot in common with religious zealotry.
