True. All activation is, is paranoia. It's the company basically
saying "I don't trust anybody, anybody and everybody is a thief that
will steal my software." Activation in itself is an accusation of
ill-will against the customer - especially for a development tool
So true. I'd think that because the customer paid for it they have already
proven they aren't honest. Honest people don't need to be kept honest, else
they aren't honest. It's just a cheap excuse to justify treating the
customer like crap. That's okay. Because as a customer that enjoys being
treated well and actually cares how his money is used, I will not pay
someone else to treat me any other way. In shot, they're free to reward my
honesty any way they choose, but I'm free to simply not support them in
truth or piracy based on the principle that I prefer to be rewarded for my
honesty, not punished. I simply don't care whether a company that uses
activation lives or dies because I don't depend on them or use their
product. They don't care about me, I don't care about them.
Thanks,
Shawn
