I think that is an unreal comparison also.

Compare VS with BDS and you get a better comparison. It was delivered
with far fewer bugs. I seen someone link a site with a VS bug list once
and ROFL at how many there were. The good thing about the folks in Redmond
is that they are smart and will release bug fixes individually if needed,
instead
of making you have to wait 4-6 months for a service pack for these single
bugs.

Yes, it can be an issue with resources, dependence on 3rd parties, etc.

But... Borland has been delivering sub-par products since they moved to
Windows.
Everything from Borland C++ to BDS has been littered with bugs; and they
are far too slow (or maybe inefficient) at getting them fixxed/patched/etc.

Agreed. A simple notepad app is a lot different than an IDE like
Delphi.
