Re: Thanks to Borland for all the hard work on update 2

Have you filled out a bug report at MSDN?

(pun intended)

I have not. It is far easier to work around the problem by using BDS for anything that doesn't require .NET 2.0 or 64bit.

BTW I just posted I've been playing around with it and it isn't doing this.

Did you open a solution with lots of files and opened each one of the files before opening the other solution? I see this problem on computers where shifting between project groups in BDS2006 works like a charm.

Is it a flicker that freezes the IDE or is it something that's just fairly "cosmetic"?

That is a matter of definition. It is a graphical experience bug, but of such magnitude that the user avoids doing anything that causes it.

Lightning fast was a comparative term. I used it to compare the speed at which things get fixxed in Microsoft products in comparison to Borland. Lightning fast, indeed AFAICT.

Well, I have still not been able to find a single update for VS2005 (except additional samples and tutorials), while I can easily find two updates for BDS2006 with just two clicks in the IDE (Help|Delphi Developer Support, and "Updates for registered Delphi users (versions 6 and later)"). When I try to check for updates using Help|Check For Updates it just complains that I am using Firefox as default web browser.
