I'm in the same boat. I jumped from D5 Pro to BDS2006 Pro, and if there
are any documentation or tutorials for the new features (or even older
ones, like how to connect to databases), I haven't found them.
It's as if I just have to explore, or buy a 3rd-party book, just to
learn the basic functions of this IDE.
I tried to connect to a MySQL database and BDS couldn't find a DLL.
Following some posts on newsgroups, I installed MySQL and copied the
client DLL. Now there's another error, something about an invalid field
format or something. Isn't this supposed to be easy?
I'd like to think that the documentation is hidden away on one of the
installation disks, and somehow wasn't installed. I'm doing this at
home (my company hasn't upgraded yet), so there are probably many
things that I haven't found yet.
I like the IDE, with its improved debugging, refactoring and other
features, but Borland certainly hasn't made it easy for people to get
up to speed.
