I would argue that there is no such thing as a "good" EXE packer,
unless your requirements are for an app that downloads remotely and
then executes once + quickly before unloading itself from memory.
Exe packer are _normally_ not needed. But ther is always an exception. One of "my" Exes simply does not load in Win98. Renaming forms etc (shorter names) does not help. But after packing the Exe, it works like a charm. Well, almost, from time to time, I have to shorten some form names again. And sometimes, starting a large Exe needs more time than starting a packed version. In another project, I pack an Exe and secure it with an additional tool. That's not bullet proof, but it's enough as a defense against most hobby cracker. Together with some internal security measures, I have a pretty reliable system, at least good enough until now. And that system must be protected because the user pay per month and get codes to run the application for another month. Better security measures are not in the budget.
