That is what Borland needs to do. Make a VCL type of Ajax IDE, that

Java

I can think of better ways to leverage the technology we have, and also
support Ruby and multiple Ajax presentation frameworks.
Picking a client-side Ajax framework is like playing whack-a-mole.
That's not where we should be spending our time. We should be spending
our time on the piece that is painful to do and always has been, not
the piece that's just a bunch of tedious control development.
EcoJax is my code name for it ... and it's automatic Ajax support for a
given ECO model/ASP.NET application. Very achievable, and can be hugely
leveraged.
Then, you can build your front end in whatever your favorite active
script/Ajax language is. Of course, we should also grow to providing
support for those.
Note: This is my personal view and something I will be using BDN
resources to accomplish, and working on personally. It's not yet a
product plan for the company. My BDN team will simply be implementing
it and using it on BDN, proving its productivity, scalability,
responsiveness, worth, and testing it all at the same time ;)
I'll keep you posted on the prototype.
