Subject: Visual Studio 2005 Express in now permanently free...

In a long and very windy press release today Microsoft announced that
after more than 5 million downloads Visual Studio 2005 Express will be
permanently free.

"Software has the potential to transform everyday lives. By making the
Visual Studio 2005 Express editions available free of charge, we're
putting the power of programming into the hands of an exploding community
of recreational programmers," said S. Somasegar, corporate vice president
of the Developer Division at Microsoft. "This community has asked for it,
and we are excited to provide it."

Borland free tools are horrible.
Any personal versions of Delphi or BDS offer database support, not even
local database.
Besides, and worst, Borland Personal versions are full of crashes and bugs
and theres no updates for these products.

Borland realy doesn´t consider hobbyists and casual programmers as promoters
of their products while Microsoft offer VS2005 Express tools with support
for databases, XML and ** NO BUGS, NO CRASHES**. And better, there is a menu
option option on VS2005 Express for update that product. I´d like to thanks
MS for offering such great tool, making it available for free, for their
support for hobbyist programmers considering them as evangelists of MS tools
and because the vendor of my ex-favourite tool (Borland) thinks hobbyist and
casual programmers as a bunch of fools.

By now, I´m switching to VS2005 C# Express.
