Re: DevCo Marketing needs to move fast!

Hello Oliver

The advantages of the Delphi platform are ...

I fully agree. Thats why we had a big success and we still would not switch.

possible outcome. What Delphi program would stop working tomorrow if Borland closed its doors? None.

Nothing (as a lot of companies still stay with D7)

But I have to get new contracts as well. And my question is still: How to convince top IT-managers?

Nice example: We organized a Delphi-Day for the army (for about 60 persons)

- some technical lessons given by us how the framework was switched to Delphi.NET

- I showed and explained the Delphi RoadMAP (not Borland!)

- Borland (not showing Delphi because the presales do not know delphi too much). They talked about the wonderful world of ALM.
(Just as remark: Borland presale has 0 budget for Delphi sales and marketing, it was just goodwill of some contacts we had here in Europe!)

- 1 week before that event Borland announced the split of DevCo!

this is my daily life on the sales front! I have not to tell you how easy we can organize here a top meeting with Microsoft. Just a few phone calls and the Microsoft sales force saddles their horses.

I would not write in this newsgroup if I had given up to believe in Delphi (2007,08 ...). But the DevCo marketing has to move now really fast!

regards

Günther
