Prove it. Relational databases went that way, but it's one of many
possible solutions.

And in practice, all attempts to build an efficient, scalable database that
deliberately attempts to avoid set theory has, so far, fallen far short of
success - not complete failure, but not resulting in anything that has been
hailed and generally accepted as even equalling, let alone surpassing, a
good RDBMS.

Whatever concurrency control an RDBMS might have is of no value to me
except when persisting data.

Which for the vast majority of applications, must be done.
