- for the same job done (one credit card payment received and
processed).

Well that's kind of how percentages work! If you carry a balance of $100 on
your credit card, you'll pay a lot less than if you carry $1000, the credit
company isn't doing any more work there either to process your account. I
don't know why one company is being centered out for such a thing, it has
got to be the most common way of charging for services there is - interest
rates, taxes, royalties, all are based on percentages.
