I am looking for a good licensing component. Recommendations?
Write your own, as simple as you like. Anything out of the box will have an
"out-of-the-box" crack!
Also, any anti-cracking suggestions?
Yes, don't bother! Anything you write can be cracked. If you make it more
difficult then it will just become a more interesting challenge for a better
skilled cracker (who will probably be affiliated with a more sophisticated
group of distributors).
My advice instead is to know who distributed your library. When deAudio was
commercial I used to embed the licensee's email adddress into the least
significant byte of the first few samples of a DrumRoll.wav that shipped
with the examples. I wasn't breaking any international laws by doing this,
and was able to identify the source of the "leak" if one should occur.
Cutting off the supply is much more affective. However, be prepared to
discover that someone you like may be two-faced, I did!
