Don't worry about it too much

From what I've heard, some form of licensing/registration does increase sales
(some people throw out 20%).

As far as anti-cracking measures, I would agree: don't spend too much time on it, it's more important to spend time on compelling features.

OTOH, I do think it's worth the effort to take some basic counter measures to prevent the low-end hacker from mass warez distribution.
