Only thing I can think of is that your display is say BGR while
incorrectly detected by windows as RGB. This would make cleartype
fuzzy on any setting.
Under http://www.microsoft.com/typography/ClearTypeFAQ.mspx there's a
question "Will ClearType look OK if my screen's color striping is BGR
instead of RGB?" Click on it and see which one looks better (using
native resolution).
