Yeah :-) As a matte of fact, I totally agree.
I think the Windows OS can be compared with audio equipment when it
comes to the user interface. The more professional and the more
expensive the equipment gets, the user interface gets more modest and
traditional.

Yes, but this is not the reason I use the classic mode.

Overall, it's not really what I'm looking for. I develop software;
code, build, run and debug. Rinse and repeat. I'm not interested in
playing MP3's, viewing pictures and sending them to my friends, etc.

Same here. Hopefully Vista can be used for our needs too :-)
