Re: Delphi in more schools (was Re: Microsoft here I come)

I think DevCo should do whatever it takes to court teachers to *want* to
use
Delphi in their curriculum. I agree, I don't think pricing is really much
of
an issue. I think rather it's just not being taught. John Kaster once
mentioned on a recent tour about getting Delphi into more High Schools. I
think that's a great idea, *especially* if you could couple that with the
colleges in the area continuing to teach. Really good penetration IMHO. At
any rate, I do feel that the evangelists of tomorrow are molded/taught in
school what to evangelize.

I've been spouting this line of reasoning since the
late 90s and agree completely. If the learning institutions
aren't teaching it, the corporate world sees that as a lack
of interest and basically writes it off.

Were it me, I'd create a freebee of some sort that included
a free copy that wouldn't compile (only interpret) and a
whole big 'ol bunch of free instructional videos akin to
the type available at Lynda.com

Hell, I'd do a section of one if they want..

A series of online instructional videos (Flash) done by
various Delphi luminaries and gurus..

Makes sense to me..
