The problem is that spaces keep disappearing from the subject:

It's not a problem in Jake's newsreader at all, actually: it appears to
be a problem in Thunderbird 1.5.0.4 - it wraps the "Subject:" line in
the header.

Forte Agent threads by Subject: first, and by References: secondly (and
this behaviour is correct and good for when the thread subject changes
due to topic drift).
