Delphi 6 pro? Sure. I've upgraded every version since TP3. D7 is the only
one I skipped, though I did get D7 with the D8/D7 promotion but ended up not
using either of them.

Yes, absolutely. If D7 cost $250 I definitely would have upgraded. Even if I
couldn't get approval, I would have paid $250 myself, not $750.

BTW, I have since replaced that component and it will hopefully never happen
again. AND, I noticed a lot of people in 3rd party tool complaining about
the same vendor doing the same thing ($500 upgrade to compile) when D2006
was released.
