Moving it from REPORTED to ANY other state is useful here.

The status choices available are:

Open
Closed
Resolved
Withdrawn
Reported

Open is for when it is in the internal system, Closed is for
reports that don't need to be open any more, or shouldn't get opened,
Resolved is for reports that look fixed, but need the author to
verify, withdrawn are for when the author doesn't want the report to
be opened. That leaves reported for everything else.
What would you suggest?

Noted?
Reviewed?

We use Reviewed in our system and the submitters are told that:
"Reviewed means we've actually read it, but don't know what we're going
with it." The reviewer has an option of adding a comment, but we do
track who had a dekko at it.
