Well, you can try. :) You seem to think it's always simple and
trivial to rebuild for the next version. Maybe it always comes easy
to you, but that's not everyone's experience. Consider the lack of
availability of reliable updates for the TurboPower components since
they were open- sourced.

I didn't say it was always simple. But it's nearly always doable.
I've upgraded some easy and some not-so-easy components to newer
versions of Delphi. I don't think it's prohibitively difficult.

I think before buying a 3rd party product a good thing to check is how
well they release the same version you bought for new versions of
Delphi without forcing you to pay for it. If they are trying to get
you to pay for a new version just because a new version of delphi came
out that's bad.
