Yes, exactly. You can familiarize yourself with it, use it, even
develop with it, If you decide it is valuable, you can buy the
Enterprise version and deploy your existing code to whatever database
you like. There's value in ECO. With Pro you get to "taste" it, and
then if you find it is valuable, you can pay for that.

Problem is, you have NO idea how well it's going to work with the
database, what performance issues there are, whether the evolve
database strategy will work for you, etc...unless you have the
Enterprise product.

I repeat: I think that the way that ECO scaled down is not going to
significantly improve ECO adoption. Databases are not enterprise only.

Maybe if you made Pro have a generic OleDB connectivity so you could
connect to Access MDB files or something, it might be better...but to
say that database = enterprise as an axiom is, I think, wrong.
