Well, actually, no. A marquee is signage. The word that you are fumbling
for is 'marque' which in both US and UK English (note the capitalized (sic)
'E' there) is a brand name. Look up the possible definitions of marque and
marquee on Wikipedia and you'll see what I mean.
This is the sense in which the original poster intended it:
"...the list is rumored to include marque names such as IBM, Oracle, and
even Google."
Strictly speaking, 'names' becomes redundant in the above sentence, hence:
"...the list is rumored to include marques such as IBM, Oracle, and even
Google."
