Re: Devco to encourage VB users to migrate to Delphi

Besides which, managing something badly doesn't necessarily mean you
don't care about it. So I'd expect that it was badly managed well in
advance of no longer being cared for.

Of course, in the past the phrase "Borland" included all that is now
DevCo. It technically still does. So, it wasn't inaccurate at all to
say, at that time, that Borland cared about Delphi. It was true -- the
entire Delphi team -- i.e. "Borland" cared very much. It's a gross case
of sophistry to try to spin it any other way. And of course, it's a
complete fabrication to insuate that I agreed with every decision that
Borland made over the years. But of course, some folks are really good
and making gross mischaracterizations.

Now, of course, there is a marked distinction inside Borland -- a
distinction that will so be /very/ marked -- between those who care
about Delphi and those who don't so much. The Developer Tools Group,
currently part of Borland, cares about Delphi a great deal -- we are
staking our careers on it. We soon won't be part of Borland. But until
we are not, it's perfectly legitimate to say that Borland cares about
Delphi because people in DevCo care about Delphi.

To insinuate that I'm some sort of liar is a gross mischaracterization
and pure sophistry.
